Seniors

Our Senior Group is the equivalent to combined Class 9 & 10 in the Steiner Waldorf system or combined Third & Fourth Year in mainstream secondaries.

These two years develop a foundation in Active Learning. Subjects lessons are taught throughout the school year. Main Lessons run in blocks of 3-4 weeks during a 2-hour morning session.

Main Lessons are a fundamental component of the Steiner-Waldorf approach. Main Lessons delve deeper into a subject matter and embrace a varied range of skills, senses and abilities. Each day's lesson is viewed as an integrated whole to the wider curriculum. Purposeful connections are made across subject and between main lesson themes.   

Our Senior students take part in the Crossfields Diploma which equips students with a range of relevant skills that support them to access higher education, employment and entrepreneurship.

Crossfields

Our Senior students take part in the Crossfields Diploma which equips students with a range of relevant skills that support them to access higher education, employment and entrepreneurship.   

This qualification is for 14-16 year olds and contains ten modules. The qualification delivers a broad curriculum which will be taught and assessed using transdisciplinary work, with a focus on collaborative and individual project work and problem solving. It includes an Independent Project module that enables students to follow their passion and explore an interest or career aspiration in depth and modules that assess Creative Thinking Skills, and Personal and Social Learning Skills, drawing on formal, non-formal and informal learning and any area of the taught curriculum.
